Meet the Staff
Rich Weissrichweiss@weissjewelers.comRich is President of Weiss Jewelers and has been in the business since 1984. He is a registered jeweler and is certified by the American Gem Society, AGS. Previously, Rich worked as a computer programmer and spends his spare time playing golf and billiards. Scott Rettmerscott@weissjewelers.comScott is the Vice President of Weiss Jewelers and has been with Weiss his entire career that began in 1978. Scott is a registered jeweler and also a certified gemologist with the AGS. Scott enjoys his spare time by skiing, golfing and fly fishing. Cathy Hempsteadcathy@weissjewelers.comCathy has been with Weiss Jewelers since 2001 and is a GIA Certified Pearl Stringer. Aline GasnerAline has been involved in the jewelry business since 1986 "working on the bench" as she puts it. That involves creating and repairing all types of jewelry. In her spare time Aline enjoys camping fishing and visiting a beach anywhere.Ed JohnsonEd is the resident watchmaker and has been in this field according to Ed, "Oh about 36, 38 or 40 years give or take." Ed's knowledge with time pieces is extraordinary. Ed says he has no spare time but enjoys a good steak on the grill with an appropriate beverage.Bill LacertBill is the appraiser for Weiss Jewelers and has been in the jewelry business since 1972. He is a graduate gemologist and a certified gemologist appraiser as well as a certified senior member of NAJA. Before entering the field of jewelry appraisals, Bill served his country as a member of the Army where he toured for 18 months in Korea and 13 months in Vietnam. In his spare time Bill enjoys reading and cooking.Fred KohlFred has been in the jewelry field since 1985 and has over four years experience in Starweld Lasers. He has had advanced laser training and over 750,000 pulses fired from his laser. Combined with his experience of basic and advanced stone setting certifications as well as his experience in silver, gold and platinum fabrication for over 40 years provides you a unique skill set to create or repair your piece of jewelry. Besides shooting lasers at jewelry, Fred is also an electrician, an instructor at Aims Community College in jewelry arts and a certified welder. In his spare time Fred likes to play in the lake, travel, cook, collect watches, and fabricate jewelry. He made his first ring in 1968.Julie Monacojulie@weissjewelers.comJulie has been with Weiss since 2006 and is the resident expert for the Pandora line of jewelry. Before joining Weiss, Julie spent 18 years in the medical field, was a teachers aide and being a stay at home Mom which Julie says is the hardest career ever. In her spare time Julie enjoys working with a humanitarian relief agency which sends containers all over the world. She has also enjoyed several mission trips to Kenya, Congo and Zambia. She has two grandsons ages five and three in Arkansas which she visits as often as she can. |
